Listening and interruption
A passage can start a thought before it finishes. Spoken Margins explores how to preserve that response without losing the place that prompted it.
The idea treats listening, interruption, and return as connected parts of the experience. The native app is one implementation of that model.
Playback and interjections
The listening interface brings playback, an interjection action, and a timeline together. The design challenge is to make it possible to leave a thought, find its context, and resume listening.
The model reader describes the information objects and listening stages separately from the implementation. That keeps the proposed behavior available for inspection even as the app changes.
Using the beta
The application is distributed as an iOS beta through Apple TestFlight. Beta availability is controlled by the current TestFlight release. The web reader is available separately and requires no iOS device.
The model describes goals and failure modes. It does not establish a measured improvement in comprehension or retention.
